"A wise man travels to discover himself."
- James Russell Lowell

Bega Tour Operation offer a great variety of accomodations based on customers request. When requested for five star, cheap, but clean or african accomodation, you can be certain that our experienced tour managers will know exactly what you mean.

Below is a small, but definently handpicked, selection of the accomodation that Ethiopia has to offer.

As tourism in Ethiopia still is in early development phase, standard of accommodation is below expectation at some destinations, especially at budget level. There are however high ranking lodges or hotels available at most destinations, but not all as of yet.

Picture on top is from the restaurant at Kuriftu Resort in Bahir Dar by the shore of Lake Tana.

Dorze Lodge, Arba Minch

Situated 500 kilometers south of Addis Ababa, in the Omo Valley, you find Dorze Lodge, owned and run by the Dorze people. The lodges are overlooking Rift Valley lakes, and is one of the best places in the south to combine comfortable accomodation and cultural experiences.

Ankober Palace Lodge, Ankober

Situated in ancient grounds of the old palace, where the capital of the ethiopian kingdom used to be. Ankober Palace Lodge is built traditionally on a hill with breathtaking scenery of the countryside and is easily reachable from Addis Ababa, even on daytrips. It is an excellent retreat to the peaceful rural settings of Ethiopia.

The restaurant on the second floor of the main building is worth the trip itself. Massive wooden floors both inside and on the balcony that runs all around the building, makes a great foundation to enjoy a bottle of local honey wine, while imagining that the land in the horizon, thousand meters below you, just might be Djibouti.

Sheraton Addis, Addis Ababa

Sheraton Addis is situated between Ethiopia's two main palaces; The National Palace (residence of the president) and the Menelik Palace (residence of the Prime Minister). The Sheraton Hotel is a luxury hotel to the fullest and the natural stage for both pan-african and African Union summits. The hotel provides an array of restaurants, including italian, french and indian, as well as a poolside restaurant. Five bars and lounges, the nightclub Gaslight, a childrens playground Simba club, underwater music in swimmingpool and much more.

Bega Tour operation will emphasize that this is only a small selection of accommodation that Ethiopia has to offer. Travelling on a budget to some destinations will sometimes include accommodation that is below standard of what some customers are accustomed to.
Befiker Kossoye Ecology Lodge, Kossoye

The Befiker Kossoye Ecology Lodge is the favourite place to stay for many experienced travellers on their way to the Semien Mountains. This is where you first will see what you can expect further into the national park, and there is no coincidence that this is the place where Queen Elizabeth II of England and Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia camped in the 1960s.

Each lodge has a double bed, seperate bathrooms, and the african architecture really falls into place here in Kossoye.

Lodge du Chateu, Gondar

Lodge Du Chateu is an eco-friendly (local materials, labour and food) bed-and-breakfast situated in immedate walking distance to Gondars sightseings. The rooms are simple, clean and decorated with local art. And the upstairs breakfast restaurant is worth a visit itself, a 360 degree view, of the Fasilidas Castle and the local neighbourhood, offcourse with WiFi. For the budget traveller, its the only place in town, but well worth a try for everyone.

Kuriftu Resort And Spa, Bahir Dar
